Looks like someone at Woolworths has let slip to Engadget about their upcoming price cuts across the 360 console range. With the Arcade costing just £126.99, the 60gb Pro at £169.99 and the Elite down to £229.99 it looks like Woolies are the first to officially announce their price cuts. The question is who’ll be next, and how low can they go??
10 new achievements which will add 250 to your Gamerscore will be included with the Halo 3 update due later this month.
The new achievements are:
Vidmaster Challenge: Lightswitch (0GS) – Get to the rank of Lieutenant in any playlist in the new EXP progression system.
Vidmaster Challenge: 7 on 7 (0GS) – Enter into any ranked or social playlist with 7 EXP on the 7th of the month.
Vidmaster Challenge: Annual (0GS) – After 9/25/08, complete Halo on 4-player Legendary LIVE co-op, with Iron, and everyone in Ghosts.
Double Double (25GS) – On a Legendary map, get two Double Kills during any ranked or social match.
Poor Yorick (25GSs) – On a Legendary map, get 3 Oddball melee kills during any ranked or social match.
Came…From…Behind (50GS) – On a Legendary map, get 3 assassinations during any ranked or social match.
Defend This (50GS) – On a Legendary map, get a flag melee kill during any ranked or social match.
Flag Dropped (25GS) – On a Legendary map, get 2 flag carrier kills during any ranked or social match.
Road Rage (25GS) – On a Legendary map, get 5 Warthog chaingun kills during any ranked or social match.
Look Both Ways (50GS) – On a Legendary map, get a Splatter Spree during any ranked or social match.
The official word from Microsoft is that there will be no price drop for the 360 in the UK to match the recent drops in Japan and the US.
This means here in the UK we are paying about £50 more for the Arcade pack than those in the US.
Rip-off Britain anyone??!!
With the recent 30% price cut in Japan pricing the Arcade pack just over £100 and the upcoming cut in the US to just $199, there is no doubt that us lot in the UK will be next. Hopefully online retailers will have it on sale for around £99 making sure the 360 ends up under many a xmas tree!!
